Description

Deploy free or affordable, practical resources that provide clear, actionable steps to help small organisations significantly reduce their risk of cyber threats. This action involves organising a short workshop or presentation to introduce tools and walk participants through its use.

Objectives

1 – Familiarise small organisations with trusted and accessible cybersecurity resources.

2 – Help small organisations take immediate action to secure their digital infrastructure using concrete, guided steps.

3 – Empower small organisations with limited IT expertise, resources or budget to independently manage basic cybersecurity risks.

Course of action

  1. 1

Prepare the session: identify the small businesses or local organisations most in need of basic cybersecurity support and understand the common challenges they face.

  2. 2

Explore existing resources ahead of time and familiarise yourself with key tools.

  3. 3

Conduct training: walk participants through 3 or 4 key tools most relevant to their operations and encourage them to use their laptops or smartphones to try out tools in real time.

  4. 4

Follow up with support: provide digital handouts summarising selected tools and linking to the main site and offer to schedule follow-up help or direct them to local cybersecurity consultants for additional support.

  5. 5

Evaluate impact: ask participants if they have implemented the recommended steps after the session and gather feedback to improve future actions.
